Goat Meat….Yep, That’s What I Said.

Written on Monday February 20, 2006

Dear Judy Ludy:

What is another name for goat meat? My husband and I are going to a new restaurant with friends, and supposedly it’s offered on the menu. I’d like to be aware of what it’s referred to so I can stay away from it!

Signed,
Perplexed in Pasadena

Dear Perplexed:

I would call another name for goat meat “DISGUSTING”; however, it is sometimes served in high-end restaurants and people seem rather found of it. I believe I can get along without EVER eating it!

Because the term “goat meat” isn’t very appealing to restaurant patrons, it is often referred to on a menu as “Chevon” or “Cabrito”. After doing some research, I found a website that offers recipes, the history behind the meat, and even lets you purchase it.

Here are the links; enjoy!!
