Rest In Peace, Don Knotts.

Actor Don Knotts died Friday night, February 24th of pulmonary and respiratory complications at the University of California Medical Center. He was 81 years old.

I remember him best as the jackass Deputy Sheriff, Barney Fife on “The Andy Griffith Show”, and as the self-professed swinging bachelor, Ralph Furley, on “Three’s Company”. His comedic timing on “Andy Griffith” was priceless. In my opinion, he really made that show. One of his favorite episodes was the pickle episode where Aunt Bea made pickles that tasted of kerosene, but neither Barney, Andy or Opie had the heart to tell her…funny, that is also one of my favorite episodes; very memorable and funny!

However, many may not know that he also made 25 films during his acting career. For a history of some of his career movies and television shows, click on

One of the great old-timers; he will be sorely missed.
