It’s Tabloid Time! This week the Enquirer has Liz Taylor bedridden and facing death with her heart failing; Nicole and Keith have called off the wedding; Connie Chung demanding a divorce from Maury after she caught him cheating; and Diane Sawyer facing the axe. There’s so much here, that I think we may only review the Enquirer this week and forget the rest!
Page 3 – if you don’t want to know how LOST ends this season, DON’T READ THIS PARAGRAPH ANY FURTHER. Apparently, Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros will have their characters killed off in a bombshell episode during the season’s finale. All this due to their run in with the law from DUI’S, 15 minutes within each other. Michelle is being written off the show because the brass thinks she’s too much trouble (i.e. too much drinking, and tabloid lesbian photos from night clubs) and Cynthia’s getting the axe because she wanted off the show. Yeah, right…who leaves a hit show to make a pilot because they want to? Cynthia’s apparently going off to star in a CBS comedy pilot opposite Tom Cavanaugh entitled “My Ex-Life.” Can’t wait for that….not.
Page 6 – here we go. Apparently Keith Urban has called of his wedding to Nicole Kidman so he can concentrate on remaining sober from his prior drug and alcohol battle. It seems the pressure of marrying an Academy Award winning actress could prove too much for him. She didn’t even attend the CMT Awards in Nashville with him in April, per his request to go alone. Hmmmm…I suspect something else; perhaps fear of commitment, on both their parts….?
Page 6 is also reporting that Tom kept Katie’s parents away from the hospital during the birth of their daughter Suri, by not telling them Katie was going into labor. He and HIS mother were at Katie’s side, but not her mother. So not cool, Tom; and this is probably on the beginning…
Page 7 – Heather Locklear is furious with her best friend Denise Richards running off with ex-husband Richie Sambora, and understandable so. But Heather, aren’t you the one that initiated this little separation/divorce scenario? Make up your mind; you either want the guy or you don’t.
Meanwhile, rumors are swirling that Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards’ divorce is growing nastier and nastier, with him shouting out horrible things to her like “I hope you die of breast cancer and get face cancer” – page 8 (allegedly).
Page 10 – The Connie Chung/Maury Povich scandal. Apparently, he’s been accused of having an affair with one of his top producers. Who hasn’t?
Page 16 – Liz Taylor’s medical problems. Reports are that she has congestive heart failure and is aware that her weakened heart could stop beating at any moment. It’s so devastating to her that she’s keeping herself locked away in her room alone, with no family or friends; totally depressed. Apparently, she making her own funeral arrangements and is requesting to be buried with Richard Burton in Switzerland. Rumor has it she’s giving the bulk of her fortune away to AIDS research, as her kids don’t need her money; each has been successful in their own right, and all have trust funds left to them by their father.
Page 20 – Britney’s pregnant; yes it’s true…we get it.
Page 33 – Sally Field’s is fighting the deadly bone-wasting disease osteoporosis (allegedly). I haven’t heard this…need to verify. Apparently, she was diagnosed with it last year, and it’s aging her prematurely. Burt Reynolds has rushed to her side to help and comfort her.
Page 34 has a reader pole asking if Diane Sawyer should be fired over not doing anything about the alleged abuse that was going on in a stepfamily that she and her crew were doing a story on, FOR OVER A YEAR! She and ABC are accused of letting the abuse go on at the home instead of going immediately to the authorities for help, all in the name of show ratings. Now, she fears she’ll be fired from her $10 million dollar a year job. Maybe Katie Couric needs a new assistant…
Page 39 has Bobby Brown wanting a divorce from (alleged) drug-head Whitney Houston…shocking.
That’s all from Hollywood this week kids…
