May 29th, 2006…Happy Memorial Day!

I’m back from an extended vacation, and feeling refreshed. Had an excellent holiday, with lots of rest (after we switched hotels, but that’s another story). Caught up on reading material, got some of those troublesome errands taken care of, and enjoyed some much needed rest.

I also took note of a few things that happened while we were away..

Brad and Angelina, in what appears to be a media blackout, welcomed their daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt into the world on Saturday, May 27th in Namibia, Africa. Details are sketchy at best, and of course, no photos yet. You’d think she was the chosen one.

The nation held it’s breath while the thoroughbred and Kentucky Derby Winner, Barbaro, underwent hours of complicated surgery to repair the damage to his right hind leg sustained while running in the Preakness race on Saturday, May 20th. You’ll be happy to know, he’s enjoying a very happy Memorial Day…oh, brother!

Britney Spear’s was captured in yet another compromising photo, juggling a drink in one hand and Sean Preston in another. Luckily one of her body guards was close by to catch the child before he fell from her grasp and onto the pavement. Nice job, Brit.

Hmmmm….The summer movies are out. X-Men: The Last Stand has grossed a record breaking $103.1 million dollars from Friday-Sunday, with estimates of $120.1 million by close of business today. The Da Vinci Code..not doing so well with only $112,900,000 in 8 days. MI:3 has taken in $115,500,000 since it’s release date.
And the long anticipated Jennifer Aniston movie opens this Friday, The Break-up. Stay tuned for those numbers.

That’s all that’s note worthy. Let’s see what summer has in store; you know, it’s my least favorite time of year because of the heat, but I’m keeping an open mind!
