AAARRRGH! Johnny Depp as the drunken pirate, Jack Sparrow in Buena Vista’s PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN - DEAD MAN’S CHEST, set an industry record over the weekend, by taking in an estimated $132.8 million in it’s first 3 days! It played in over 4100 theatres nationwide, which helped, but still…that’s alot of pirate’s treasure!

Coming in 2nd was Warner Bros. SUPERMAN RETURNS taking in $21,800,000, bringing in it’s total to around $141,677,000 in it’s second week.

3rd place went to THE DEVIL WEARS PRADO from 20th with $15,600,000, bringing it’s total to $63,696,000, also in it’s second week.

4th place was Adam Sandler in Sony’s CLICK with $12,000,000, giving it a $105,921,000 3 week total.

And coming in 5th was Disney’s CARS with $10,330,000, bringing it’s total to over $205,000,000 in 5 weeks.
