After being fired from Paramount last summer by Viacom CEO Sumner Redstone, Tom Cruise and his partner, Paula Wagner are partnering with MGM to resurrect the historic movie studio United Artists that was founded by Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and other associates of theirs, 85 years ago.
Reportedly, he and Paula have “substantial ownership” in the new studio, with Cruise starring and producing the films, and Wagner serving as Chief Executive. This also gives the duo “substantial” control of the production slate.
Quite a nice gig if you can get it…!
