Bob Seger Review

Written on Saturday March 3, 2007

That’s right! I went to the Bob Seger concert in Inglewood, CA with my friend “Andrew” on Thursday night. I gotta say…it was a great show. Seger opened with a crowd rocking rendition of…what the hell was it? Damn it; I can’t remember; I was too busy WATCHING the crowd. Old and young, mezmerized by this 62-year old legend.

The playlist included:

Roll Me Away, Tryin’ to Live My Life Without You, Wreck This Heart, Mainstreet, Old Time Rock and Roll, Wait For Me, Face the Promise, Sunspot Baby, Betty Lou’s Gettin’ Out Tonight, We’ve Got Tonight, Turn the Page, Travelin’ Man/Beautiful Loser, (10 Minute Intermission), Simplicity, Ramblin Gamblin Man, C’est La Vie (You Can Never Tell), Real Mean Bottle, The Answer is in the Question, The Fire Down Below, Horizontal Bop, Katmandu

1st Encore: Night Moves, Hollywood Nights

2nd Encore: Against the Wind, Rock and Roll Never Forgets

Seger began his career in 1968, after he left a factory line job, and never looked back. When he played TURN THE PAGE, the crowd went nuts; I had no idea he originally recorded that song in 1971. WE’VE GOT TONIGHT was another HUGE crowd pleaser; and he looked like he was back in his 30’s when he and his band went nuts during KATMANDU.

It was an excellent 2 1/2 hour show; you don’t get to see many TRUE legends.

But we did, and enjoyed every minute of it.
