Comment on A Valentine’s Day Double Chocolate Martini by Mark Kelly

Is there a specific brand or flavor of half and half that can be used? Growing up in America's Dairyland, I remember seeing a zillion kinds of cream, each with it's own character. Should the cream be bold, or better as a mild flavor carrier? I'd be curious to know about adding coffee (I confess my own addiction) or espresso to the mix, or whether that would add too much bitterness to the flurry.o

Mark..you make me laugh! I believe half and half comes in only one flavor, which is cream flavor; as far as a brand, that varies by region. Here on the west coast, I prefer Knudsen.

As far as coffee in a chocolate martini....hmmmm. I don't know if that would taste so good; however, a splash of a coffee flavored liqueur, such as Kahlua, might be just the ticket to jazz it up even more. Give it a try! The best thing about recipes -- there are no hard and fast rules, only what your imagination can dream up!

Comment on What’s Elephant Garlic? by Mark Kelly

I have to share this treasured appetizer discovered whilst dining at a reasonably overpriced Chicago eatery: Take a full head of elephant garlic, a half stick of butter, any added seasonings like wine, salt or sugar, and wrap the whole thing in a Hershey's kiss form of aluminum foil, and bake in the oven until the cloves are softented to match the butter. (temp and time by test). Simple, quick, fun to eat with a spoon, and great with a nice red wine as a pre-salad course.)

Thanks, Mark. This sounds like a great recipe, and one my readers will no doubt try!

Hello Judy, - has he ever shown outward anti-semetic behavior before. I was really shocked to read about his action!

I'm not sure if he's ever shown this kind of bahavior before. My gut is probably not, since it's causing such a harsh-no-one-should-ever-work-with-him-again reaction in Hollywood. I really think it's going to be difficult for him to rebound from this, and no amount of spin can help him. He's blown it.

I am very excited about this. I used to watch General Hospital religiously. What can you tell us about Candy Spelling vs. Tori Spelling?

I'm very excited about "Laura" returning to General Hospital too!

So true. Let me add -- my cholesterol (the bad, yukky stuff) is 103, I have excellent blood pressure, I exercise for forty-five minutes every day, I don't eat anything with sugar, and I have an excellent self-perception. My doctor also says my BMI (Body Mass Index) weight should be right around 181 lbs which (and he stated) "puts you below where you should be but continue to lose those pounds."

One last comment: When his labcoat is buttoned, the tension is so tight that I fear one of the buttons will snap off and hit me like a miniature missile.

Thanks for the advice...I'll continue to ignore him as I've done for the past seventeen years and follow (what I perceive to be) my healthy regimen.
